Lawrence Yen

Investor and Entrepreneur
Lawrence brings a rare combination of operator experience, venture investing track record, and cross-border institutional network to MIH Climate Impact Capital. He began his career in corporate banking with HSBC China, leading corporate banking teams to support local and international firms operating in China.

He subsequently co-founded four companies across Taiwan and China before launching a venture capital career in 2011 — developing the investment discipline and institutional network that defines MIH’s approach. His personal track record includes a 40x net return in energy storage technology, 20x return in consumer food services, and profitable exits spanning consumer products, semiconductor design, and media, with IPOs on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and NYSE.

Philanthropist
Lawrence is formerly a member of the board of the Society of Entrepreneurs and Ecology (SEE) — the largest environment protection foundation led and managed by business leaders in the Greater China region — and is currently the Director of SEE Taiwan Association. SEE brings together a network of over 600 business owners and entrepreneurs to address the region’s most pressing ecological and environmental challenges — spanning desertification prevention, wildlife and habitat protection, ocean and marine ecosystem preservation, sustainable procurement, and environmental NGO incubation. In 2022, SEE deployed over USD 30 million across these programs throughout Greater China.
