— INVESTMENT STRATEGY
Conviction Investing Across
the Climate Technology Stack
MIH invests in early-stage companies applying technology to the most critical sustainability challenges. Our mandate is across sectors and intentionally focused in value creation: we seek businesses that will benefit from Asia-Pacific supply chain integration, go-to-market access, or regulatory navigation.
Sector Focus
Sector 1 — Energy Transition
Advanced geothermal, energy storage, next-generation hydrogen, grid infrastructure and critical minerals. We favor asset-light technology businesses that enable the energy transition rather than project developers requiring balance-sheet capital. Representative portfolio: XGS Energy, OCOchem, Ace Green Recycling.
Sector 2 — Sustainable Material and Circular Economy
Bio-based polymers and materials, and biodegradable alternatives to petrochemical inputs. We focus on businesses where Asia supply chain relationships create defensible competitive advantages. Representative portfolio: Algenesis Materials, TomTex, Simplifyber.
Sector 3 — Climate Data and Resilience
Analytics, monitoring, and infrastructure enabling communities, governments, and enterprises to measure, prepare for, and respond to climate-driven risk. Representative portfolio: Hohonu.
Sector 4 — Food and Agriculture Technology
Alternative proteins, precision fermentation, and supply chain technologies that reduce agricultural emissions while maintaining or improving nutritional value. Representative portfolio: Bettani Farms.
Sector 5 — Building and Industrial Decarbonization
Energy efficiency in built environments, low-carbon HVAC, and industrial process decarbonization. Representative portfolio: Gradient.
Value Creation Framework
How We Create Value
Pillar 1 — Asia Supply Chain Activation
We connect portfolio companies with vetted manufacturing, materials, and OEM partners across Taiwan, Mainland China, and Southeast Asia. For hardware and materials businesses, securing reliable, cost-competitive manufacturing is frequently the critical path to commercial viability. Our network spans industrial chemicals and materials, textile and footwear manufacturing, electronics OEM and ODM, automotive components, and construction materials.
Pillar 2 — Go To Market Partnership Development
We broker introductions between portfolio companies and strategic incumbent partners in Asia markets who can accelerate distribution, market validation, and revenue. These introductions are pre-qualified through existing MIH relationships — eliminating months of cold outreach for portfolio founders.
Pillar 3 — Venture Builder Support
Where portfolio companies need it, MIH provides direct operational support: board-level strategic guidance, fundraising process structuring, term sheet negotiation input, and introductions to co-investors. Our GP has direct experience managing companies through institutional capital raises, IPO preparation on multiple exchanges, and M&A exit processes.
